Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has said that false information is being spread uusing their name about fake votes in the 13th National Parliament elections. Everyone has been urged to be cautious in this regard.
This information was given in a press release sent to the media on Monday.
It said that mistakes and misinformation are being spread by quoting Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) about fake votes in the 13th National Parliament elections.
The information presented at the press conference held on the occasion of the release of the report titled 'Thirteenth National Parliament Election Process and Affidavit-Based Observation' has been incorrectly disseminated and published, creating confusion in the public mind.
The organization has urged the media to correct this mistake as soon as possible and to prevent confusion.
The press release said that out of 70 constituencies randomly selected for TIB's field research, information was found that one or more fake votes were cast in 21.4 percent of the constituencies. Interpreting this information as 21.4 percent fake votes in the entire election is completely wrong, baseless and unfounded.
In this context, the media outlets that have already interpreted or presented this information incorrectly are requested to publish appropriate corrections. Otherwise, such misleading presentation will be considered intentional.
