Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam has dismissed circulating rumours about his resignation, describing them as baseless.
Speculation had spread that the police chief had stepped down from his position. However, when contacted on Sunday, Baharul said the reports of his resignation were not true.
According to official information, Baharul assumed office on 21 November 2024. He succeeded former IGP Md Moinul Islam.
The government appointed him as inspector general of police on a two-year contractual basis.
