Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has extended his greetings to the people of the country and Muslims around the world on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
He also called upon all to uphold the sanctity of the blessed month.
In a message issued on Sunday, the chief adviser said the month is a time of self-restraint, sacrifice, compassion, and spiritual purification.
He noted that through fasting, charity, and acts of worship during this sacred month, believers have the opportunity to attain spiritual purification, strengthen mutual compassion and harmony, and seek the pleasure, closeness, and forgiveness of Almighty Allah.
Yunus said that the holy month of Ramadan inspires both individuals and the nation to avoid injustice, corruption, and wrongdoing, and to work towards establishing a society based on justice and welfare.
Alongside worship, he said, Ramadan teaches morality and humanity through the practice of truthfulness, justice, integrity, and mutual empathy, while awakening a sense of responsibility toward the poor and the underprivileged.
Urging the nation, he said, “Let us be inspired by the teachings of the holy month of Ramadan, refrain from extravagance, hatred, and hostility, and devote ourselves to increased worship, recitation of the Holy Quran, prayers, repentance, and good deeds to attain the pleasure of Almighty Allah. Let us preserve the sanctity of Ramadan.”
He prayed that Almighty Allah accept the fasting, prayers, charity, and all righteous deeds of the people and grant them the ability to implement the lessons of Ramadan in their lives.
The chief adviser also prayed that Almighty Allah forgive and protect everyone and bless the country and the nation with peace and prosperity.
