The government-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will sell essential commodities across the country through truck sales during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
In a notification issued on Tuesday (February 10), TCB said its subsidised sales programme for smart card-holding families is already ongoing nationwide.
In addition, between 3 million and 3.5 million consumers will be able to purchase essential items at subsidised prices through special truck sales during Ramadan.
According to TCB sources, TCB's truck sales program may start from the day before the start of the month of Ramadan. TCB will also sell chickpeas and dates in addition to regular products such as oil, pulses and sugar. The quantity and price of products sold in truck sales will be announced later.
