President Mohammed Shahabuddin is set to administer the oath of office to the BNP-led cabinet-elect at the National Parliament’s South Plaza on Tuesday afternoon, reports Daily Sun.
According to sources at the Chief Adviser’s Office, Bangabhaban’s Darbar Hall has been traditionally used for the government oath-taking ceremony, but this time, the Parliament will serve as the host.
At the event, Prime Minister-elect and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will take the oath with his chosen cabinet members, party sources said.
On Tuesday morning, before the government swearing-in, the lawmakers elected in Thursday’s election will take oath. Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin will administer the oaths to the 297 elected lawmakers, said Parliament Secretary Kaniz Mawla.
