The government is providing Tk1 crore to the family of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi to purchase a flat in Dhaka.
According to sources at the Ministry of Finance, the special grant will be used to buy and furnish a 1,215-square-foot flat at Doyel Tower, a residential building for government officials located in Lalmatia.
Finance ministry sources said that the allocation was approved following an application from the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
The transfer of the flat is conditional upon verification of the identities of Osman Hadi’s wife and child.
Hadi, also a prospective candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot in the head on December 12 while travelling in a rickshaw in the Paltan area.
He was airlifted to Singapore for advanced treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on the night of December 18.
