The interim government on Tuesday approved 11 proposals on administrative overhaul including the establishment of four new police stations in different parts of the country.
It also approved the move to split the National Board of Revenue (NBR) into the Revenue Policy Division and the Revenue Management Division.
The proposals were approved in a meeting of National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reforms (NICAR), the first to be held under the interim government.
Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus convened the 119th session of the meeting at his official residence, state guesthouse Jamuna.
The police stations to be established are: Purbachal Uttar in Gazipur, Purbachal Dakhhin in Narayanganj, Matarbari in Cox’s Bazar and a new police station through the splitting of Raipura Police Station in Narsingi.
Other proposals approved in the NICAR meeting are: changing the Bangla name of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA), and correcting the Bangla spelling of Bhully Police Station in Thakurgaon.
NICAR also reconstituted the “Ministry of Health and Family Welfare” by combining the “Health Services Division” and the “Medical Education and Family Welfare Division” into a single entity.
The Committee upgraded Satkhira district’s rank from “B” to “A” due to its tourism and economic potentials as well as status as a global heritage.
