Foreign affairs advisor Md. Touhid Hossain said that government officials must prove their impartiality not through words but through their actions.
He said this at a meeting with district-level officials at the Patuakhali district commissioner's conference room on Tuesday on the occasion of the upcoming 13th National Parliament election and referendum.
The foreign affairs advisor said, "Even if everyone does not agree on all issues, the people will vote 'yes' in the referendum for the necessary changes in the state."
He also said, "A large number of foreign observers will be present in the upcoming National Parliament election to ensure transparency, acceptability and impartiality of the election."
The meeting, chaired by district administrator Shahid Hossain Chowdhury, was attended by superintendent of police Md. Abu Yusuf and officials from various election-related departments.
