BNP Central Executive Committee Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has opined that a lack of government accountability over the past one and a half years has plunged the country into multiple crises. Factories are closing, jobs are scarce, and yet the government has failed to take responsibility, he said.
Rizvi made the remarks while serving as the chief guest at a free medical camp organized to mark the 90th birth anniversary of martyred President Ziaur Rahman at the Zilla Parishad Auditorium in Jajira Upazila, Shariatpur, on Tuesday around noon.
He expressed concern over the country’s law and order situation, calling the current government’s inaction “very sad.” Rizvi said conditions are worsening daily and urged the Election Commission to ensure improvement ahead of upcoming elections.
Commenting on voting rights, he stressed that past violations must be rectified through free and fair elections to restore citizens’ fundamental rights.
The medical camps in Jajira and Sadar Upazilas provided services to about 5,000 people. Over a hundred doctors from various departments in Dhaka participated, distributing free medicines and providing medical consultations.
