BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed has said the next national election will determine the direction of Bangladesh’s future progress.
He said BNP wants to build a parliament where people’s voices will be heard, not one limited to ceremonial performances, and where there will be no place for terrorism.
Salahuddin made the remarks while addressing a meeting of the Mahila Dal as the chief guest at the union BNP office in the Chiringa Palakata under Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
He said no future democratic government would be allowed to go off track. “We want to build a parliament where people’s issues will be discussed, development will be debated, and democratic rights will be upheld,” he said.
Salahuddin Ahmed further said the next parliament would enact laws to help Bangladesh move forward.
“We want a parliament where there will be no culture of blind praise. Lawmakers will speak for the people, and there will be constructive opposition. The upcoming election will be one to ensure the genuine democratic rights of the people of Bangladesh,” he added.
