BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi reaffirmed the party's commitment to the ideals of Begum Khaleda Zia, stating that BNP will continue to move forward guided by her vision and leadership. Rizvi made the remarks after members of the Mahila Dal paid homage to the tombs of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia at Zia Udyan in Dhaka on Saturday morning.
Speaking to the media, Rizvi emphasized that BNP and its affiliated organizations would follow the path shown by Begum Khaleda Zia, upholding her promises to the people of Bangladesh. He also noted that the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman would carry forward the legacy of both Begum Khaleda Zia and her late husband, Ziaur Rahman, by adhering to their ideals.
Rizvi accused the authorities of deliberately providing Begum Khaleda Zia with improper treatment during her time in prison, claiming that there was an intentional manipulation of her condition.
“Begum Khaleda Zia, the fearless leader of democracy, taught us how to stand by the people and fight against fascism. She showed us what it means to stand firm for the nation’s rights and values,” Rizvi added, reaffirming the party's resolve to continue her struggle for democracy and justice.
