On the occasion of the 54th Victory Day on 16 December, 54 paratroopers will carry out a paratrooping display with the national flag in an attempt to set a world record, reports the Daily Sun.
According to the Chief Adviser’s press wing, the final six paratroopers will wear nameplates bearing the names of six Bangladeshi peacekeepers who were killed while serving at a United Nations base in Sudan. The gesture is intended to honour their sacrifice during the historic Victory Day observance.
The special paratrooping event will mark both Bangladesh’s independence and the country’s long-standing contribution to international peacekeeping missions.
