A case has been filed with Paltan Police Station two days after the attempted shooting murder of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.
A police official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said early Monday that the case named one person as an accused in the first information report (FIR).
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have so far arrested six people in connection with the shooting incident.
Hadi was shot on Friday (12 December) while travelling by rickshaw along Box Culvert Road in Paltan by an assailant riding a motorcycle.
He sustained bullet injuries to the head and was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he underwent surgery, before being shifted later that night to Evercare Hospital. Doctors said his condition remains “critical”.
The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing said Hadi will be flown to Singapore by air ambulance on Monday noon for advanced treatment.
