Ahead of the upcoming national election and referendum, the Election Commission (EC) has formed Electoral Inquiry and Adjudication Committees for all 300 parliamentary constituencies in the country.
The committees were announced on Sunday through a notification signed by Mohammad Didar Hossain, Deputy Secretary of the EC’s Legal Division.
According to the notification, the committees will carry out field-level investigations into electoral irregularities and oversee adjudication processes.
The EC has directed relevant authorities to extend necessary support to the committees.
The commission noted that these committees have been formed in consultation with the Supreme Court through the Law and Justice Division under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
