Sharif Osman Hadi, one of the leaders of the July Uprising, spokesperson of the Inqilab Moncho and a prospective independent candidate for the upcoming national election from Dhaka-8, will be taken to Singapore in an air ambulance on Monday afternoon, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing said on Sunday night.
Following the directive of Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, the decision was made during a teleconference attended by Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on health affairs Prof Md Sayedur Rahman, Evercare Hospital’s Dr Zafar, and Hadi's brother Omar Bin Hadi.
Over the past two days, the government has contacted several hospitals in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia regarding Hadi's treatment, the Press Wing said in a release.
Sayedur Rahman informed the chief adviser that Hadi's health condition is currently stable and unchanged.
The government has already completed all necessary preparations, including arranging an air ambulance, a medical team, and other travel-related arrangements, to send Hadi to Singapore on Monday afternoon for advanced medical treatment, it added.
At the same time, all arrangements have been made for his treatment at the Accident and Emergency Department of Singapore General Hospital.
All expenses related to the treatment will be borne by the state, while the chief adviser has instructed the officials concerned to keep the medical process under constant observation, the Press Wing said.
