The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has instructed government primary schools to cancel scheduled holidays and conduct annual examinations.
The directive was issued to the Directorate of Primary Education on Tuesday.
According to the notification, schools that were unable to complete the final assessment must arrange to hold exams from 11–15 December 2025 (excluding Friday and Saturday) by cancelling the planned holidays.
Winter vacation was originally scheduled to begin on 11 December. However, under the new directive, the holidays on 14 and 15 December have been cancelled.
Earlier, annual examinations at government primary schools were suspended from 1–4 December due to a movement by assistant teachers over a three-point demand.
