The health condition of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia remains unchanged as she continues to receive treatment in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
“Khaleda Zia’s health condition is unchanged. She is still undergoing treatment in the CCU of Evercare Hospital,” said BNP Media Cell member Shyrul Kabir Khan on Tuesday night, reports Daily Sun.
He said the medical board overseeing her care is doing everything possible to support her recovery and remains hopeful.
He added that the former prime minister is under constant observation by the board, which includes specialist doctors.
Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital since 23 November.
According to her personal physician, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, her treatment is being supervised by a medical board made up of leading local doctors as well as specialists from the UK, the US and China.
She continues to receive round-the-clock care in the CCU under the leadership of Professor Shahabuddin Talukder.
Khaleda was moved to the CCU on 27 November after her condition deteriorated.
Her daughter-in-law, Dr Zubaida Rahman – also a member of the medical board – arrived in Dhaka from London on Friday.
Zubaida visited Evercare Hospital on Tuesday, as she routinely does, to be with her critically ill mother-in-law and monitor her condition.
