The government has appointed 31 officers holding the rank of Senior Assistant Secretary as Additional District Commissioners (ADCs), according to a notification issued Monday night by the Ministry of Public Administration.
The order states that the transferred officers have been granted the powers of Additional District Magistrates, allowing them to serve as Executive Magistrates within their respective jurisdictions under Section 10(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898.
The newly appointed ADCs have been instructed to join their assigned workplaces by December 11. Those who fail to do so will be considered “stand released” from their current posts—whether training or workplace—effective the afternoon of December 11.
The notification also notes that if an officer’s office or posting has changed in the interim, he must submit a joining letter specifying the updated name and address of his workplace.
A full list of the appointed Additional District Commissioners was included in the official government notification.
