BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has issued a statement regarding a news report circulating in the media. He claimed that his statement has been wrongly presented.
In the statement signed by BNP deputy office secretary Adv. Md. Taiful Islam Tipur, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Today, on November 11, 2025, in the afternoon, a statement of mine given at an exchange of views at the Mohammadpur Shapla Government Primary School ground in Sadar Upazila under Thakurgaon district has been wrongly interpreted and presented in various media – which is very sad. I said in my statement that we do not want to do revenge politics. We do not want to file harassment cases like the Awami League. I also said in my statement that if there is any harassment case in this union, we will withdraw it. But I have not made any statement regarding filing or withdrawing harassment cases nationwide.”
He appealed to the people of the country and party leaders and activists at all levels not to be confused by the incorrect statements published in the media.
