The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has reinstated 40 leaders who were previously expelled or had voluntarily resigned from various party units across the country, reports BSS.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the decision in a press release on Sunday. He said the leaders who had been expelled for violating party discipline—particularly for participating in the last Sylhet City Corporation election against party directives—have now regained their positions and primary memberships.
“The expulsion orders have been revoked following their appeals and a subsequent decision by the party’s high command,” Rizvi said.
The statement also confirmed that Sultana Razia, joint convener of BNP’s Tetulia Upazila unit in Panchagarh, who had earlier left the party voluntarily citing personal reasons, has been regranted her primary membership upon application.
