Election Commission Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said that the EC has yet to decide on holding dialogues with political parties ahead of the upcoming polls.
The schedule for such talks will be set only after finalizing the code of conduct for candidates and political parties, he said.
Speaking to reporters at the EC Secretariat on Sunday the secretary said, “We are waiting for the gazette notification of the code of conduct for candidates and political parties. Once it is published, we will fix the date for the dialogue.”
Regarding postal ballots, Akhtar Ahmed said, “I mainly came to share one update. You know we planned to launch the ‘Postal Vote BD’ app for expatriate voters on November 16, but it will now be inaugurated on November 18 instead.”
So far, the EC has held dialogues with various stakeholders, including media representatives, civil society members, election experts, and women representatives.
