Shafiqul Alam, the Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, has reaffirmed that the upcoming national elections will be held in the first week of February. He made the announcement during a public address in Netrokona on Friday.
Shafiqul also addressed concerns surrounding the election timeline, stating that certain individuals with ties to the ousted government were deliberately spreading confusion. "These individuals are simply beneficiaries of the previous regime, and their claims should be disregarded. The elections will go ahead as planned in the first week of February," he said.
The Press Secretary’s remarks were made in the presence of Netrokona’s Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman, and Superintendent of Police Mirza Sayem Mahmud, who joined in the public exchange of views.
Shafiqul’s statement aims to reassure the public about the election schedule, amidst ongoing debates and uncertainty regarding the political situation.
