The Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) has secured a global rank for the first time in the UK-based higher education evaluation organisation, Times Higher Education (THE) 'World University Rankings 2026'.
MIST has been ranked in the 1501+ category, marking a milestone for an advanced engineering education institution run by Bangladesh Armed Forces.
This achievement reflects MIST's progress in academic excellence, research innovation, and institutional development.
MIST successfully met THE's criteria across multiple indicators including research impact, international collaboration, industry engagement, and teaching quality.
Currently, MIST offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs across 13 departments and plays role in advancing research and innovation for national development.
This year, MIST has achieved three patents for indigenously innovated products, demonstrating its growing strength in technology-driven innovation and applied research.
The Commandant of MIST, Maj Gen Md Nasim Parvez congratulated all faculty members, researchers, officers, students, and partners for this success.
He expressed optimism that this international recognition will further inspire MIST to reach new heights in academic and research excellence.
