Light to moderate rainfall is likely to continue across various parts of Bangladesh over the next five days, according to the latest forecast from the Meteorological Department. The rain is expected to affect the northern and southern regions in phases during this period.
Meteorologists reported that a low-pressure area is currently extending from the North Bay of Bengal through Bihar and West Bengal. The monsoon remains fairly active over Bangladesh and is in a weak to moderate state over the North Bay.
Until Saturday evening, many areas in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, along with temporary gusty winds. One or two places in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions may also receive rain, with some areas expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall. Daytime temperatures may decrease slightly, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
From Saturday evening through Sunday evening (October 12), scattered rain or thundershowers are likely in Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, and in isolated places in Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions. In contrast, the rest of the country may experience mainly dry conditions with partly cloudy skies. During this period, daytime temperatures may rise slightly.
Between Sunday evening and Monday evening (October 13), light to moderate rain may continue in isolated parts of Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions, while the rest of the country is likely to remain dry. Both day and night temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged.
The same weather trend may persist on October 14 and 15. Light to moderate rain is likely in one or two places in the Chittagong division, while the rest of the country is expected to experience dry weather with partly cloudy skies.
