The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9am on Thursday.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at a few places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions. Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur in some areas, according to a BMD bulletin.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
According to the met office, the axis of the monsoon trough extends from East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal to Assam, passing through the southern part of Bangladesh. The monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over the North Bay.
