BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury emphasized that the National Elections are crucial for restoring democratic practice in the country.
He made the statement on Sunday after a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh Gwyn Lewis, and Senior Human Rights Adviser at the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office Huma Khan, at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan.
He said, “The practice of mutual relations between political parties is also essential for the transition to democracy.”
Mr Khosru said that the meeting discussed the inhuman living conditions of the Rohingyas. The United Nations has pledged to continue cooperation until the Rohingyas return.
At that time, Gwyn Lewis said that Bangladesh needs adequate cooperation to deal with the Rohingya crisis.
