BNP Chairperson's advisor Moazzem Hossain Alal said countries where elections are held using the PR system do not have stable governments.
He said this at a protest rally demanding the arrest and trial of those involved in the attack on BNP Chairperson's Advisor Zainul Abedin Faruque at the National Press Club on Sunday morning.
Alal said, "A new box has appeared. A colorful box. The decision of that colorful box is to hold elections using the PR system— elections on a proportional basis. In countries where this PR system exists, there is no stable government. There is no government with normal momentum."
He said, "Belgium and Israel have PR systems. Belgium has it because there are many indigenous people there. They have been given a symbol to represent them. And Israel has it, that's why Israel is not a country, but a symbol of destruction.”
The BNP leader said, “When a vacuum is created in nature, the wind rushes in from the side and occupies the empty space. Then a storm occurs. We need to think deeply about who is talking about the threat of that storm using PR methods.”
