The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three.
“Due to active monsoon, a steep pressure gradient lies over the North Bay. Under its influence gusty/squally weather may affect the maritime ports, the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh,” the Met office said in a bulletin on Saturday.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice, it added.
