RAB has arrested Shah Paran, the mastermind behind the rape and torture of a woman in Muradnagar upazila of Comilla.
This information was shared at a press conference at RAB's media center in Karwan Bazar in the capital on Friday afternoon.
RAB said, “The incident was committed due to previous enmity. Shah Paran is the younger brother of Fajr Ali, the main accused in the rape case, and the mastermind behind the incident of beating and stripping the victim and spreading the video.
Shah Paran has been in hiding since the incident. Many important information, including photos and videos, have been found in his possession regarding the rape incident.
Describing the incident, RAB further said, “Two months ago, an argument and a fight broke out due to a dispute between Fajr Ali and his younger brother Shah Paran. In a village arbitration, elder brother Fajr Ali also slapped his younger brother Shah Paran in public.
Later, Shah Paran was looking for an opportunity to take revenge on his elder brother. A few days after the arbitration, the victim's mother took a loan of Tk 50 thousand from Fajr Ali on interest. On the evening of the incident, the woman's parents went to visit the fair. Taking this opportunity, Fajr Ali entered the woman's house at night under the pretext of collecting the interest.
Meanwhile, Shah Paran and Abul Kalam, Anik, Arif, Suman, Ramzan and 8-10 other unidentified persons who were staying around the woman's house in a pre-planned manner, broke the door and physically assaulted the woman.
An obscene video was recorded at this time. Later, the video was shared on social media. After the incident, the main instigator Shah Paran, Abul Kalam and other accused went into hiding.
