Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has agreed to the proposal to grant presidential pardon through law. This was stated by BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed after a meeting with the National Consensus Commission with political parties held at the capital's Foreign Service Academy on Thursday afternoon.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed its agreement on the issue that the presidential pardon will be regulated by law.
Earlier, the eighth day of the meeting of the National Consensus Commission with political parties began at the capital's Foreign Service Academy at around 11:15 am on Thursday.
In addition to BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed, leaders of various political parties including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Amir Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) member secretary Akhtar Hossain, Labor Party president Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Iran, Amar Bangladesh Party general secretary Fuad Abdullah and others participated in the meeting.
