BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said as BNP is a liberal democratic party, it wants change through elections and there is no reason to misunderstand it.
He said this at a special discussion meeting titled BNP 'National Unity and Democratic Movement' in honor of the martyred family at the China Friendship Conference Center in the capital on Tuesday, on the anniversary of the July Mass Uprising.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “A democratic Bangladesh must be built. All those reforms that are being talked about were included in Vision 2030 of BNP. Propaganda is being spread skillfully, propaganda is being spread on social media that BNP is not accepting reforms. But let them see that BNP agrees with almost everything. Let the government reveal where it agrees or disagrees with the reform proposals. It is their responsibility. The country has been turned into an empty state. The burden of debt has been imposed...so that it becomes difficult for the next government. Still, we fought against the fascists.”
The BNP Secretary General said since BNP is a big party, any call for unity by blaming BNP will not be helpful. There is no compromise on the issue of unity and democracy.
