Ganosamhati Andolon chief coordinator, Zonayed Saki, has called for unity through new political, economic and cultural settlement in the aspirations of mass uprising for democratic reconstruction.
He spoke to reporters after paying tribute to the martyrs killed in the July uprising at the Central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday at 11 am.
After paying tribute, Zonayed Saki said, “The defeated forces of the uprising are still conspiring to sabotage our achievements. They are causing cocktail explosions in different places to create panic among the people, and last night they also caused cocktail explosions in front of the Ganosamhati Andolon’s central office. Such incidents are frightening people, but people will implement their aspirations of mass uprising by stopping such conspiracies.”
Zonayed Saki also said, “People have brought fascism down from the country by standing in front of bullets. People are united to take the country forward on a democratic path. This unity of the people will show the way to establish a new political settlement in the future.”
He also said, “The punishment of the perpetrators of fascism must be ensured through trial, and he called for identifying those who are involved in conspiracies to destabilize the country and bringing them under the law quickly. If those involved in these misdeeds are the fallen Awami League, they must also be presented before the people as a terrorist organization.”
The tribute event was also attended by the executive coordinator of the Ganosamhati Andolon Abul Hasan Rubel, political council members Taslima Akhter, Monir Uddin Pappu, secretary board members Bachchu Bhuiyan, Julhasnain Babu, Deepak Kumar Roy and other central leaders. The families of those killed and injured in the uprising were also present.
