BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that despite all obstacles, democracy will ultimately be restored.
He made the remark on Tuesday during Chhatra Dal’s national anthem performance and a candlelight vigil at the Central Shaheed Minar, commemorating the martyrs of the July Uprising.
Rizvi said that Sheikh Hasina believed that creating obstacles would bring everything to a standstill. But she failed to suppress the democratic movement.
The BNP leader said that the July uprising stands as a symbol of resistance.
Several other leaders also addressed the program, stressing that no single political party alone uprooted fascism.
They emphasized the collective responsibility to fulfill the dreams of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives, asserting, “We must continue the fight to establish democracy.”
