BNP Standing Committee member professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said, “The dream that someone will play tricks on the country’s sovereignty and human rights while BNP leaders and activists will sit quietly at home will remain a daydream. Understanding the language of the people, the interim government has announced elections to be held sooner, within February. We want to believe that they will implement their announcement.”
He said this at a discussion meeting on the occasion of the distribution of new member recruitment forms and the inauguration of the renewal program of BNP organized by Ghoraghat Upazila and Municipal BNP of Dinajpur at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom on Monday afternoon.
He also said, “BNP is a people’s party. Many have tried to remove BNP with a light push, but no one has been able to do so. BNP was born among the people. Efforts have been made for 17 years to eliminate BNP leaders and activists. BNP could not be suppressed even through disappearances, murders, torture, and false and bogus cases.”
Ghoraghat Upazila BNP President Shah Md. Shamim Hossain Chowdhury presided over the event, while District BNP vice president Atiqur Rahman Raja, Ghoraghat Upazila BNP vice president Mahbur Rahmar Chowdhury, general secretary Abu Sayeed Mia, organizing secretary Md. Mahfuzar Rahman Lavlu, Municipal BNP acting general secretary Muktar, Municipal BNP president Abdus Sattar Milon and many others spoke as special guests.
