The dengue daily caseload hit the highest this year in the 24 hours till Monday morning, with 429 new infections, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The number of deaths remained at 42, with no new fatalities reported during the period. The total caseload so far this year reached 10,296.
Barishal Division (excluding city corporation areas) again reported the highest number of new infections, with 149 fresh cases.
The latest data shows that Chattogram Division (excluding city areas) recorded 57 cases, Dhaka Division (excluding city areas) reported 61 cases, Rajshahi Division reported 54 cases and Khulna Division reported 21 cases.
Forty-two new cases were detected in Dhaka North City Corporation and 45 more in Dhaka South City Corporation.
Currently, 1,167 dengue patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals across the country. In the 24 hours till 9:00 am Monday, 358 patients were discharged from hospitals across the capital following recovery, taking the total recoveries this year to 9,087 people.
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.
According to the DGHS, there were 1,01,214 dengue cases and 1,00,040 recoveries in the same year.
