BNP will not tolerate those who threaten to disrupt a fair election, said BNP chairperson's advisor Zainul Abedin Faruque.
He said, "The BNP people who took their lives by driving rickshaws from Senbagh to Kurigram, the activists who spent their lives standing in knee-deep water at night, the activists who endured Harun's torture, the activists who were tried to be killed by leaving Hasina in the Aynaghor are still alive. Not a single person has joined the Awami League."
He said, "So, by threatening us, you will disrupt fair elections. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party will not tolerate that."
Faruque said this at the general meeting of the Nationalist Ulema Party at the Diploma Engineers Institution in the capital this Monday morning.
The BNP senior leader also said, “We do not expect a party to forget about political friendship and speak against BNP.”
He said, “PR methods and demands for local government elections are being made as a conspiracy to sabotage the success of the meeting between Tarique Rahman and the chief advisor. These demands are a conspiracy to delay the election process.”
Addressing the chief advisor, he said, “You are an acceptable person in the history of Bangladesh. No one should trap a person like you through conspiracy. Keeping that in mind, make arrangements for the elections before Ramadan.”
