Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasts rain, thunder and gusty wind over the country in next 24 hours, commencing at 9am Monday.
According the BMD bulletin, “Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka & Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal Chattogram & Sylhet divisions.”
It also said that the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during this time.
This bulletin also said that the low pressure area over Northwest Bay and adjoining west Bengal & Bangladesh coast persists. “The axis of monsoon trough runs through Panjab, Horyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, the center of the low to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay,” it continued in its Monday bulletin.
