The National Board of Revenue (NBR) officials have announced the withdrawal of all ongoing programs, including a complete shutdown.
Import and export trade was closed for 48 hours due to the complete shutdown program called by the NBR Reform Unity Council. The movement has been withdrawn following discussions between business leaders and the Financial Advisor and the formation of a five-member advisory committee to reform the revenue system.
This information was shared in a press release on Sunday night by NBR Reform Unity Council president Hasan Muhammad Tareque Rikabder and secretary general Sehela Siddika.
The release said that in view of the request of the country's leading business leaders and in the larger interest of the economy and the people, the NBR Reform Unity Council is hereby withdrawing its complete shutdown. However, our initiatives and activities to reform a comprehensive and sustainable revenue system will continue as usual.
