BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that it is not a decent idea to give political tags to incidents like rape without finding out the truth.
He said, “Its regrettable that attempts are being made to politicize such incidents without solving them in order to take advantage of the upcoming elections and to cross their own electoral threshold. The administration should be more proactive in this regard.”
Amir Khosru also said that there is no opportunity to divert people's attention through lies. Those who are making this attempt will not benefit much.
He said this in response to questions from journalists after a meeting with the Canadian High Commissioner at the Gulshan Chairperson's office on Sunday afternoon.
Regarding the elections, Amir Khosru said, “Everyone involved is preparing to organize the elections in February. There is no sign that the elections will not be held. There will be disagreements, but everything will have to be moved forward.”
