The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued Local Cautionary Signal No. 3 for the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra, due to a developing low-pressure system over the northwest Bay of Bengal and nearby coastal regions of West Bengal and Bangladesh.
This system is causing the formation of deep convection clouds and creating turbulent sea conditions, with the potential for squally winds along the coast and in the open waters.
Maritime authorities have advised all fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay to remain close to the coast and exercise extreme caution until further notice.
