A new committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement was formed through elections. In this newly elected committee, Rashidul Islam, also known as Rifat Rashid was elected President, and Sheikh Enamul Hasan, known as Hasan Enam was elected General Secretary.
Additionally, Moinul Islam was elected as the Organizational Secretary, and Sinthiya Zaheen Ayesha was elected as the spokesperson for the platform.
The first central council of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement was held on Wednesday from 12 PM to 5 PM at the Rupayan Trade Center in Banglamotor, Dhaka. After the voting concluded, the results were announced in the evening.
Rashidul Islam, the newly elected president of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, was the frontline coordinator of the platform during the July Uprising. He later served as the Joint Member Secretary of the NCP (National Coordination Platform). He recently resigned from that position.
Hasan Enam, elected as the General Secretary, was the secretary of the July Uprising Special Cell of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the founder of the July Massacre Archive.
They both are students of Dhaka University.
Earlier, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement published the final list of candidates for its first council on Monday. For the post of President, Rifat Rashid competed against Zakir Hossain Monju. For General Secretary, Hasan Enam faced competition from Ibrahim Nirab and Md. Ibrahim Hossain Munna. For Organizational Secretary, Moinul’s opponents were Tasnim Ahmad and Mohammad Sajjad Hossain. For the position of Spokesperson, Sinthiya contested against Nupur Akter Nova and Md. Likhon Hossen.
