The country has entered electoral tunnel through the meeting between Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in London, said party standing committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
He said this to the reporters after the meeting of BNP's Liaison Committee with Gono Forum on Monday afternoon.
Responding to reporters' questions about the announcement of the date of the national election, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said, "Every time when there is an election, a schedule is given for the date of filing nominations, the date of selection, and the date of the election. It is not given so much time before the election. It is given close to the election. All elections are the same. So we have to wait for that. But we are definitely moving towards the election in the first half of February."
He said that the discussion about the election in the first half of February held in London meeting with the Chief Advisor and our Acting Chairman; The people have taken it very positively. The fear that was there among the people has been removed. All the nations have now entered the electoral tunnel. We are all moving towards the elections.
At that time, adv. SM Altaf Hossain, member of the presidium Council of the Gono Forum, said, “For the last 15 years, we have unitedly fought against an authoritarian fascist, Awami League government, to establish a democratic government. In the continuation of that movement, the fascist government was overthrown on August 5. Now a rare opportunity has come to establish a new humane Bangladesh.”
