A meeting was held between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) delegation. In the meeting, the CPC formally invited BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to visit China.

The post stated that CPC Politburo member and National People's Congress deputy chairman Li Hongzhong welcomed the BNP delegation at the bilateral meeting held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing of China.
CPC leader Li Hongzhong expressed hope that the relationship between the two parties and the two countries would gain a new dimension through this meeting.
Terming the initiative of the Chinese leadership in regional politics as positive, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called for expanding the scope to multilateralism.
A high-level BNP delegation led by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is visiting China. The BNP delegation also includes National Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Selima Rahman, BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council members Zahir Uddin Swapan, Ismail Zabiullah, Sukomal Barua, BNP Media Cell convener professor Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, and BNP Chairperson's private secretary ABM Abdus Sattar.
