BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the crisis is not over yet and there is still a lot of work to be done to restore and establish democracy.
“For the past 16 years, Sheikh Hasina has been spreading propaganda against BNP. That propaganda is still going on. Now, BNP is working under the leadership of Tarique Rahman to restore democracy,” he said.
Rizvi said this at the inauguration of a tree plantation program on the occasion of the birthday of Tarique Rahman's wife Zubaida Rahman at Zia Udyan on Tuesday afternoon. The two-day tree plantation program was organized by 'Amra BNP Paribar'. It was presided over by senior journalist Atiqur Rahman Rumon, convener of 'Amra BNP Paribar'.
He said, “Sheikh Hasina had written the country's history and textbooks according to her own whims. If there was democracy, this would not have been possible.”
The senior BNP leader said, “People like Zubaida Rahman did not get relief from the torture of fascists. She has been harassed in various ways. False cases have been filed.”
Present at the event were BNP joint secretary general and advisor to 'Amra BNP Paribar' Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, BNP treasurer and advisor to 'Amra BNP Paribar' M Rashiduzzaman Millat, advisor Md. Abul Kashem, engineer Mostafa-e Zaman Selim, member secretary of 'Amra BNP Paribar' agriculturist Mokchedul Momin Mithun and permanent member of the National Press Club Zahidul Islam Rony.
