The top leaders of the Nationalist Like-Minded Alliance believe that the haze created over the upcoming national elections has been cleared through the meeting between the interim government's chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman in London.
The leaders said that the fruitful consensus reached on holding the national elections before the upcoming Ramadan has brought a message of relief and hope to the people of the country by overcoming uncertainty.
The alliance leaders said this in a statement sent to the media on Saturday morning after the meeting between Dr. Yunus and Tarique Rahman in London.
In the statement, the top leaders of the like-minded alliance said, “The countrymen's expectations are that through this fruitful meeting between Dr. Yunus and Tarique Rahman, the reform and justice process will now move forward, and the country's path to democracy will also become easier. In that regard, this top-level meeting of the two leaders was very important in building the future of Bangladesh.”
They said, “We consider the discussion held in the meeting to bring forward the election deadline and achieve rapid progress in the justice and reform work as positive.”
The top leaders of the alliance said, “A space for understanding was created in this meeting. In addition, the countrymen believe that the expectations of the political parties and the people in the changed situation have been achieved to a large extent through this meeting.”
