Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul said that the Civil Procedure Code is being amended to ensure quicker and more cost-effective disposal of cases.
He made the remarks at a discussion on legal aid, organised by the National Legal Aid Services Organisation (NLASO), in the capital’s Bailey Road area on Saturday afternoon.
“Various steps have been taken to ensure justice, including training for judges,” said the adviser.
Asif Nazrul also stated that the Legal Aid Act is being amended to help people alleviate the burden of prolonged litigation.
“Minor and negotiable cases would be made subject to compulsory settlement through NLASO,” he added.
