BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that BNP’s Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman can return to the country whenever he wishes and will make that decision at the appropriate time.
He made the remarks while speaking at a press conference following a meeting between Tarique Rahman and Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus in London on Friday.
When asked whether the issue of Tarique Rahman’s return to the country was discussed, Amir Khasru replied, “We don’t think there’s any necessity to discuss that matter. Tarique Rahman can return to the country at any time. So, he will make that decision in due time.”
In response to a question regarding the July Declaration, Amir Khasru said discussions on the ‘July Declaration’ are already ongoing in the country.
“On the issue of reform, the chief adviser, Tarique Rahman, and all of us have expressed the same stance,” Khasru said on the reformation issue.
