BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has removed uncertainty, said the party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
He said this in an immediate reaction to the meeting on Friday.
Mirza Fakhrul said that the nation was waiting for this meeting. The meeting has become a turning point. Tarique Rahman's proposal was on the election issue. Dr Muhammad Yunus has shown prudence. This meeting proves that people can unite even in times of crisis.
He also said that now it is necessary to build national unity by overcoming all the mistakes of the past. “We are moving forward on a democratic path with preparations for the elections. Democracy is a matter of practice. The country should be taken forward on the basis of national consensus instead of abusing each other.”
