Acting chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Tarique Rahman met with Chief Adviser to the interim government Professor Muhammad Yunus on Friday in London.
The meeting took place at 9:00 am local time (2:00 pm Bangladesh time) at the Dorchester Hotel in central London. A brief video clip circulated online showed the two exchanging pleasantries and shaking hands at the start of their conversation.
“I feel very good,” Yunus was heard saying. “How is your health?” responded Tarique, smiling.
“It’s going… one has to walk slowly,” the Chief Adviser replied.
During the exchange, Tarique conveyed greetings on behalf of his mother, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. “Mother sent her greetings,” Rahman said.
Yunus responded warmly, saying, “Many thanks and gratitude. I will also send my greetings to her.”
