Mentioning the April election date as a delay, CPB general secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince said, “Like other democratic parties in the country, we also want elections by December. If the elections are delayed, there is a fear that evil forces will rise to power.”
He said this at the 'Meet the Press' program at the Khulna Press Club on Thursday.
He said, “The reforms required for a free and acceptable election must be made. The judicial process must also be visible. We think that it is possible to complete the elections by December by doing these things. If the elections are postponed, the hegemonic forces can implement many of their evil wishes. The elections will be further away for various reasons.”
He announced the plan for a Dhaka-Chittagong road march program protesting the assignment of the responsibility of managing the corridor and the Chittagong port terminal to a foreign company.
CPB leader SA Rashid, Khulna Metropolitan CPB president HM Shahadat, general secretary Nityanand Dhali, and former general secretary Mizanur Rahman Babu were present on the occasion.
